A Salyersville, Kentucky, attorney with over 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors, Grover Arnett credits the generosity and support of others as key to his success and the reason he believes so strongly in giving back to the community. Born into humble circumstances, he recognizes that without assistance from teachers and the hard work and dedication of his parents, his life would be very different. In an effort to provide others with the same assistance he received, Grover Arnett established the William O. and Easter Arnett Endowed Scholarship Fund in 2008.

The endowment provides scholarships for students attending Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Eastern Kentucky. The majority of Big Sandy students require financial aid, and the William O. and Easter Arnett Scholarship fills in some of the funding gaps. The scholarship is specifically intended for single parents living in Magoffin County. It is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence but who do not already receive financial aid.

Originating from a $10,000 endowment, the award varies by year and continues to provide many with the funding they need to reach their educational and career goals.
